Educators from CGRESD and GIRESD districts recently completed an intensive 6-week course with instructor Brian David to prepare them to take the FAA Part 107 Exam to become licensed commercial drone pilots. Passing this test will allow them to use their drones to capture photos for their school website and yearbook, as well as be better prepared to teach students about using drones in various industry applications. Thanks to all those who gave up their evenings to participate, and thanks to the REMC Association of Michigan for funding the training and testing. #REMC #CGRESD #ourstory

The Area School MOCI Transition class, comprised of 15- to 22-year-old students, successfully grew luffa sponges from seed this summer in Verna's garden. This fall, the students harvested and prepared the sponges for drying. It marks the first time the class has undertaken this unique project. The plan is to create soap in the spring and soak the luffa sponges in the soap. If all goes well, the students aim to sell the luffa and soap in the future as part of their micro-business initiative. Stay tuned for an update in the spring! #OurStory #Area School #MOCI Transition
