A group of Education Occupations students attended the FCCLA State Leadership Conference on Wednesday and Thursday and prepared projects for competitive events.
Kaitlyn Bailey (Harrison) and Alyvia McIvor (Clare) earned gold in Creative Teaching.
Kalli McGraw (Clare), Breann Miracle (Harrison), and Katharyn Pigeon (Clare) all earned gold in Toys that Teach.

The annual Science Olympiad Tournament was held at the Mid Michigan College Mt. Pleasant Campus on Saturday, March 16. Seventeen teams from Region 3 competed in different science and engineering events. CGRESD Team Members Cassie, Duncan, Joe, Matt, and Stacey gave up a Saturday to help make this event successful! The Region 3 Tournament is a joint effort between CGRESD and Mid Michigan College that has proven to be a highly successful collaboration. In local news, Gladwin Junior High advanced to the State Competition!

CGRESD Technology and General Education teams recently attended the annual Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL) Conference. They are returning with instructional technology resources to share with local schools, as well as insights into how other districts are addressing complex problems!

CGRESD had the honor of hosting our local state representatives, Mike Hoadley, Tom Kunse, and Bill Schuette, along with esteemed senator, Roger Hauck, dedicated area school school board members, and visionary superintendents from Clare, Gladwin, and Midland county. Together, we explored into the future of education, discussing innovative policies and the necessary steps to empower our next generation.

The Culinary Arts CTE program had a strong showing at the 2024 ProStart State Competition! There were 7 competitions over two days in Kalamazoo and over 400 students competed. Our program brought 14 students and competed in both ServSafe Knowledge Bowl and Cake Decorating. Team A from the ServSafe Knowledge Bowl placed 5th overall. Congratulations to all participants!
