Yesterday evening the Clare-Gladwin RESD CTE programs hosted their bi-annual Advisory Committee meeting at the Magnus Center. Each advisory committee provides valuable insight into current industry practices and also guidance for each program on equipment purchases and work-based learning opportunities. Additionally, in customary fashion, our Culinary Arts program prepared the dinner for all guests and had several capable student workers to help make the evening a success.

CTE pulls much of its relevance from our industry stakeholders. Each CTE program has people from business and industry that devote their time and talent through providing direct insight into what is currently happening in each respective discipline.
We want to celebrate 3 advisory committee members who recently reached time milestones with their committee. Shown here are Hayden Rowley (5 years - Construction Trades), Jared Bruner (10 years - Digital Media). Not shown but also recognized was Jeremy Rowley (5 years - Construction Trades). Thank you so much for your years of service!

CTE HOSTS CLARE COUNTY FARM BUREAU PROJECT RED EVENT- On Thursday, October 5th, the Clare-Gladwin RESD Career and Technical Education (CTE) hosted the Clare County Farm Bureau's Project RED (Rural Education Day) at the Magnus Center Campus. This event welcomed local fifth graders from Farwell, Harrison, and Clare Schools, offering them insight into the importance of agriculture and how it impacts our daily lives.
The students had the opportunity to explore various fun and educational stations, where they interacted with experienced professionals from the district forestry service, MSU Extension, FFA members / Agricultural Science students, and local producers. Some stations included planting and harvesting crops, raising livestock, honeybee production, maple syrup collecting, farm safety, and more!
Project Red is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Farm Bureau, area school districts, and the generous support of local agricultural volunteers and businesses. #CTEitsWorking #ProjectRED #AgriculturalScience #FarmBureau
