Rethinking Please join us for 'Rethinking Guardianship Facilitating Lifelong Self Determination' with Dohn Hoyle of The Arc Michigan TUESDAY, MAY 7, 2019 from Noon to 3 p.m. at PERE MARQUETTE DISTRICT LIBRARY (LLB in the lower level), 185 E. 4th Street in Clare. Sign-in opens at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served.

This workshop covers guardianship from a historical perspective, strangers as guardians, and alternatives to guardianship.

- What are alternatives to guardianship?
- What is power of attorney?
- How can medical and financial decisions be handled?
- What is self-determination?
- What is supported decision making?
- How can we best support students as they transition to adulthood?

Who should attend? Families with a child with disabilities or learning challenges, school staff, other community members.
