Course Overview
Construction Trades prepares students for careers in the building and construction industry through classroom instruction and hands-on training. Students learn construction methods, safety practices, blueprint reading, cost estimating and building techniques while developing technical and workplace skills.

Program Schedule
A.M. Session
8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Mid Session
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
P.M. Session
12:15 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Learning Environment
Students split time between the classroom, construction lab and project house. Through a partnership with the Gladwin County Land Bank Authority, students begin the school year with a vacant lot and work together to build a home by year's end.
Second-Year Requirements
Maintain a C average
Have good attendance
Meet program requirements
Demonstrate teamwork and work ethic
Follow safety expectations
